Cold Sore Light Therapy

As a cold sore sufferer myself, I am always on the lookout for new treatments, and particularly those that can reduce the healing time bipap machine. A coldsore can take anywhere between 7 to 15 days to completely heal and it is not pleasant to have to walk around with a nasty sore on your lip for that amount of time. When I first heard about using light therapy to heal a cold sore I must admit to being a little sceptical, but after researching the subject I really feel that this could make a huge change to peoples lives who suffer with recurrent coldsores.

The first cold sore light therapy device was invented in the UK by an English GP. As with most innovative devices, the idea was a simple one. Use a narrow wave band of light to stimulate the bodies natural immune system. By concentrating the light onto the sore, blood flow is increased to the affected area of skin, thereby stimulating the bodies natural healing mechanism. The light penetrates the soft layers of skin to promote healing of the coldsore itself and the surrounding area. This healing process is stimulated without heating or burning the skin.

If the light therapy is applied early enough, usually at the first feeling of tingling or itching, the sore will not appear. When the light therapy is used on a coldsore that has erupted and blistered, the healing times have been shown to be reduced by half or better.

The light therapy device is completely safe to use. It can be used on babies, children and adults and can be used again and again as required. Research has proved that using the light therapy devise, twice a day was enough to significantly reduce the healing time of the cold sore. The cold sore light therapy device is powered by batteries so it can be used at home, in the office, anywhere and anytime you feel that tell tale tingle. The light therapy device is also very economical when compared to the creams and gels we use to treat cold sores as these preparations are fairly expensive.

If you suffer with recurrent cold sores, I can thoroughly recommend using a light therapy machine. I have found two such devises during my research which I feel more than happy to recommend. The LipZor and The Biostick. Both these devises use the same technology and are now readily available on the market.
