4 Steps to Start Your Blog the Right Way

Blogs are now influential enough most journalists depend on them as a source of news or interesting stories. As more people turn to blogs as a source of information, that means the opportunity grows bigger. Nowadays, people have choices though, so quality of your post is not optional.

If you decide to start blogging, you need to pay attention to these factors, or you will more likely waste your time and efforts:

1. Decide on your topic
Knowledge is less significant than passion Sherry Dyson . Even if you don’t know much about a topic, as long as you are passionate about it, you can spend time learning and still enjoy every second of it.

It’s not as hard as you think, except maybe if the topic you want to blog about is brain surgery. Most of the time, you can read a handful of books and be in the know, more than 90 percent of the market.

2. Allocate resources
If you can’t schedule time to blog, you will end up abandoning the blog soon after the excitement is over. You know, every time you start a new venture, the excitement is high, but you need to keep doing it long after the excitement is over.

Make sure you factor this thing in. If you are already too busy with other tasks, stop and think about how you are going to grow your blog, especially if hiring others is not an option.

3. Focus on strategy first…
You must have a strategy to be able to grow. With millions of blogs that are already out there, unless you have something interesting or unique, people are not going to read your blog. That is just a fact that you have to think about first.

What are you going to use the blog for? Is it part of your marketing? Do you want to sell advertising space? Do you want to establish yourself as an authority in the niche? No matter what it is, focus on a few things that really matter.

Once you get the strategy in place, design the technology around it. Yes, this comes later. You can always learn how to do things in ebooks or courses. You don’t want the technology to dictate your strategy.
